South Texas Road Trip to San Antonio

February 23, 2017 Kim 3 Comments

It’s another mom and daughter weekend trip for us. We knew where we needed to go and where we wanted to go. Our South Texas road trip to San Antonio was full of emotions and laughter. Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio SeaWorld Westover Hills hosted my mom and me for the weekend. For that, I am thankful and very appreciative.

South Texas Road Trip to San Antonio

Our much-needed road trip to San Antonio to visit a family member in a crisis started on Friday morning with a stop in Waco, TX, to what would be our first visit to the famous Magnolia Market. Mom and I had a planned visit on Saturday to visit my grandson and her great-grandson in San Antonio. After that, we were free to tour the town. Our weekend trip ended Sunday evening with an impromptu visit to my best friend’s house in Bluffdale, TX. We had a great mother-daughter weekend for sure.

Neither of us had been to San Antonio in years. We remember a lot of what we saw, but of course, when years pass, so does change. San Antonio has grown and was everything we remember plus more. Lots to do for sure. It was a dreary weekend, but that did not stop the tourist at all, nor us. On our list to do was to walk the River Walk and eat Mexican food. When we arrived at the Courtyard Marriott San Antonio SeaWorld, we were greeted with a smile and a friendly hello from the hotel clerk. That always makes me feel good.

When we arrived at the Courtyard, we were greeted with a friendly hello from the hotel clerk. That always makes me feel good. Our room was spacious, clean, and very inviting. We loved it! Acknowledging us was a special treat for sure. I love it when a hotel knows you’re coming, and they make it unique for the entire family. See the below photo.

Because our little adventure in Waco was extended by all the wonderful things to do, Mom and I arrived at the hotel just in time for dinner. We chose to eat at the hotel in The Bistro. Dinner was excellent, as was the service. The hotel was busy with a high school banquet and soldiers coming in with their lovely dates. It sure was nice to see lots of happy kids there!

Whether you’re coming to San Antonio for work or play, The Courtyard Marriott San Antonio SeaWorld serves a lot of purposes. Being only 5 minutes from SeaWorld, and having a spectacular indoor/outdoor Infiniti pool with a swim-up bar, this upscale hotel is an excellent choice for family fun. For the business person, they offer a very friendly and convenient business center.

San Antonio River Walk

You really can’t go to San Antonio without visiting the River Walk. Many restaurants and shops were ready to serve their guests. Like I said above, the weather did not stop anyone from having a good time. The rain wasn’t going to go away, and mom and I rode the riverboat and even had to wait in line for it. It was nice to learn more about San Antonio from the driver of the boat. Only minutes from the hotel too.

My 5 Hotel Amenities Must-Haves:

  • A no-smoking room
  • Free WIFI
  • An awesome pool
  • Great location
  • A friendly staff

I don’t ask for much. Do I? The Courtyard Marriott San Antonio SeaWorld exceeded my expectations and more. This view was our view for the weekend. If the pool looks this nice in February, just think what it will look like in the springtime. Isn’t it gorgeous?

As we said goodbye to San Antonio, it wasn’t without a picture of us with all our goodies in the hotel’s lobby first.

We enjoyed our South Texas road trip to San Antonio and can’t wait to go again! If you’re headed there, be sure to plan ahead and choose The Courtyard Marriott San Antonio SeaWorld for your stay.
