Have you heard about Hipcamp? It’s the new way of camping that everyone is talking about!
Hipcamp camping is on the rise – heck, camping itself is strong. If you’re looking to get out in nature surrounded by nothing but fresh air and dirt, Hipcamps are all over the place and might be what you need. Hipcamp hosted us for a 3-day stay in Waco, TX. All opinions about our stay are all mine. Don’t know what a Hipcamp is? Keep scrolling — I’ll fill you in!
Hipcamp is more about the experience, and the second is the location. I was invited to use their service and booked a campsite near me. I found a cool place to camp in Waco, TX, and invited my mom to come along. It was a Mother-Daughter Road Trip to Waco, TX, and our fifth one in four years. Though this is not a new way to camp for me, I want to experience the great outdoors one day – just a bit scared of not having a building around me. Just so you know, Hipcamp is more for the adventurous camper, but do list cabin camping as well.

A New Way Of Camping. What is Hipcamp?
Its offerings are outdoor stays and camping experiences. Landowners list campsites, glamping tents, RV space, cabins for people to discover new ways to camp. Hipcamp can be accessed by desktop or app. So, you can book a camp and/or rent out your campsite and make some extra money using the app or website. I don’t know anything about that making money part, though. It’s like Airbnb or VRBO, except these places are not homes or apartments.
Hipcamp books these types of camps:
- treehouses
- glamping tents
- tent camping
- open spaces
- cabins with amenities
- farm camping
- RV parks
- beach camping
- lake camping
Whether you’re looking to pitch a tent next to a river, glamp on a farm, camp under the stars (literally), or in a cabin with amenities, each location provides a unique adventure. I found a few in Hipcamp Texas!

Hipcamp Texas – Waco, TX
When I camp, I love nature walks, chirping birds, cooking on an open fire. Still, I like amenities even more – so I chose a cabin with air, toilet, sink, coffee pot, shower – actually, everything you need to be comfortable. Some Hipcampers don’t have to have all that. But, whatever you’re looking for, you’ll probably find it at Hipcamp.
This is my mom and me. See, we are hip!

Wherever you go — from lush forests to rolling hillsides to river’s edge — we’re all seeking the same vibes –breathing in the fresh air.
This particular cabin was pet-friendly, so my mom brought along her dog, Lily.
It’s good to be out and about in the sun and see the spring tulips pop up everywhere. This inspired us to get out and enjoy the fresh air in Waco with no mask, and what keeps us exploring the world as much as we can.
