Top Farmer’s Markets in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area
I love to visit Farmer’s Markets to help support local farmers and of course to buy local produce, but there seems to be none close to me so I went looking on the Internet to find a few that are the nearest to me, and what I found were many in different areas of Dallas Fort Worth, and thought perhaps others might want a list all in one place. So, here’s a list of top local Farmer’s Markets in and around the DFW area. I’ve also listed times, dates, and what they sell if known.

Denton Community Market Photos
After posting this blog post this morning, I decided to go to the Denton Market. Here are some photos of my visit on June 18th.
I have to say that there wasn’t that much produce today. What I did see was something different in every booth – variety is good though. Running into someone you know is always fun. She makes handmade soaps, so I bought one of those. I visited with Shiela who makes and sells homemade bread and granola and bought one of her granola bars. I also bought the cutest handmade and hand-painted birdhouse. And, for the first time, I bought some microgreens. I will buy more of that for sure. I would say about 6 vendors had delicious green produce.
Here’s another pic from the Denton Market today. Love that sign!!
Farmers Branch Market
12700 Denton Drive, Farmers Branch, TX 75234
Sat. 8am-Noon (May-October)
Along with vendors selling produce, this market offers children’s activities. A friend I saw at the Denton Market says this is a good market. She sells at both.
Sugar Acres Fruit Stand
Just off Hwy 198 at Hwy 175 in Mabank, TX
Opened Sat/Sun 10am-6pm
Not quite in the DFW area – but a good one. If anyone heads to Cedar Creek Lake, this stand is located right off Hwy 198 when turning right off Hwy 175 to Mabank.
This is not just a fruit stand – it’s way more than that. I’ve been coming here for a while when I visit my mom at Cedar Creek Lake. They have lots of veggies too. Right now their Texas peaches are wonderful…and so are the homegrown tomatoes. They also make their own jellies, & jams. You’ll also find all kinds of nuts and even small size produce in coolers. They’ve grown tremendously since the first time I visited over 10 years ago. 7/16/16 – went there today and pick up some good fruits and vegetables.
