My Love for Chevy – Texas Pride!

March 27, 2015 Kim Croisant 32 Comments

I do love a mighty good Chevrolet vehicle. My Participation in the Fort Worth Tech & Travel Road Show was compensated by SheBuysCars #TNTChevy – My Love for Chevy – Texas Pride!

Texas pride, native Texan, travel

My Love for Chevy – Texas Pride!

As a native Texan that drove Chevy’s as a teenager, and now as an adult, I’m pretty proud of my home state of Texas accomplishing this impressive milestone of the 10 Millionth vehicle built at the GM Arlington, TX Assembly Plant. Here’s some trivia for you. Did you know that General Motors in Arlington is the ONLY Plant that produces the Chevy Suburban? That means if you were to buy one, it first came from Arlington, TX. I’m pretty proud of that! **TEXAS PRIDE**
My love for Chevy all started in 1976 when my dad bought my sister and I a car to share. It was small, cute and yellow!! It was a Chevrolet Chevette. We had another name for it, but I’ll spare you on that. I drove it the most since my sister had a boyfriend. I remember taking a trip to Houston, TX with my two best friends. We had a blast. Then, in 1978 I got my first car…and no, I didn’t have to share with my sister. My dad put the down payment on a 1978 Chevy Camaro, and I paid the payments. I can still remember the payments I had for a 4-year term – $109.56. I LOVED that car. It was a beaut…and the color turned heads. A beautiful metallic brown – think a burnt orange color. Let me tell you; the Camaro has come a long way from my 1978 one. WOW – isn’t it gorgeous and so sporty? I bet this one turns heads too!!

Did You Know…

“The Suburban is the longest running nameplate in automotive history. This 2015 Suburban LTZ is the ten millionth vehicle built at the Arlington Assembly Plant.”

My Love for Chevy - Texas Pride!

About 16 DFW Bloggers were invited to tour the GM Arlington Plant on Tuesday. Here we are going inside to what had to be the most exciting thing I’ve done all year. It was so refreshing to see how vehicles are made one car part at a time. The tour was well worth our time, and if I’m not mistaken, anyone can take a tour. If you’re interested, give them a call!!

Fast forward to today, I drive a GM Yukon which is similar in many ways to the Chevy Tahoe, and my husband drives a Chevy Silverado. We like to keep it in the family!!

Okay, Here’s a few of the new Chevy Silverados. Many to choose from, and one I’m sure your husband would like. Mine would!!

This Silverado (below) is loaded inside with everything from beautiful brown leather seats to Wifi and more. The price tag on this baby, if I remember correctly is in the upper $60’s.

Here’s a nice sporty Black Silverado  – built for 2015. It was highly talked about at the Show yesterday.

Thank you, Chevy

Very thankful for being a part of this Fort Worth Tech & Travel Roadshow. Not only did we tour the GM Arlington Plant, but we also had a lovely lunch at the Fort Worth Sheraton (more about that in another post), and we were invited to the DFW Auto Show where we got to see all these excellent Chevrolet vehicles. Thank You SheBuysCars!

I would love to drive a full size pickup. It's actually what I learned to drove on- an old Chevy and an old ford. I preferred the Chevy trucks. 🙂

I live fairly close to Detroit and when its auto show weekend they do it up right and that side of the city tends to partake in the event. Car shows can be quite entertaining.

My first car was a Chevy and I've had a soft spot for them since. I would love a truck to go speeding away from work.

Two of my first cars were Chevys. I had a brown Chevette that I LOVED, but rolled it in an ice storm. That was then replaced with a Chevelle.
