Make Family Memories at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, TX
Schlitterbahn Waterpark in New Braunfels is definitely the place to make family memories. We sure did. Follow my advice here and you can make family memories to last all summer long!
Schlitterbahn New Braunfels
Is the flagship of all parks and is America’s #1 waterpark for 18 years. Their claim to fame is their World’s longest tube ride – The Falls. Have you been yet? If not, you’ll definitely want to take a road trip with the family this summer…or at least put it on your bucket list for. File it under “a weekend getaway” or not. It’s a must if you want to see more of Texas in the Texas Hill Country.
I did not realize how big this place was. With THREE separate parks, you’ll probably want to get a 2-day pass just to see and experience it all. They have trams running every 5 minutes that takes you from park to park. For me, I found my perfect spot (below). I’m a tad bit of a wimp, so I hung out in the pool while my husband and son went on a few rides. FYI – that’s a fake tattoo…just saying. I will say this, bring lots of money…that drink I’m drinking was $10 with tip.
The huge pool at Schlitterbahn is filtered from the Comal River which makes it very cold…but what’s better than swimming in natural water!! Oh, I know, the heated pool above where I’m sitting!!
Best Time Ever
My son had the best time. His favorite ride was the White Water Chute. They rode that over and over again.
After hanging out here for a while we took the tram over to the park where the Master Blaster was. Though we didn’t ride it…because..well, we were scared to, Brody did find his favorite spot!!
I’ll always remember how much fun Brody had at the Pirate’s Cove. He was able to slide down the slide a million times while we sat patiently close by watching him laugh and play with other kids that he just met. Over to the left and in the pool area are huge water guns that squirt water all the way over to the platform you see here. He loved spraying that water and getting everyone who walked by wet…no drenched!!
Below is a video I took of 3 people flying through the air. I didn’t get the name of this ride, but I do know it’s extra. So if you want to ride bring extra money. $60 for 2 or $75 for 3 people. It’s not for sissies!!! Unfortunately, I turned my phone the wrong way on both videos…sorry about that.
Hopefully, this will convince you to put Schlitterbahn New Braunfels on your “To Do” list this summer. Not only will you enjoy all the Schlitterbahn parks, but also everything else this German town offers, including the Guadalupe River and the small quaint town of Gruene.
They call it a tram, I call it a bus…but whatever, right!! Just remember #BahnLove and #travelTexas Have a great summer!! Oh, and you might want to check out Schlitterbahn Online for information on ALL the Schlitterbahn Parks – South Padre Island, Galveston, and of course New Braunfels. CHEERS!
