We’ve had a single blackberry bush for at least four years now that produces enough blackberries to make desserts and have leftovers to either freeze or give to our neighbors. Then, about two years ago, my husband planting another one. We will have enough blackberries to make more blackberry desserts, and this year I’m making blackberry margaritas for our backyard parties.

When do Blackberries Bloom?

Blackberries bloom in early June. However, our blackberry bushes start sprouting towards the middle of May, and they will stop producing before June ends. I think It depends on the weather, where you live, and if there’s lots of rain.

If you want to grow blackberries, plan to sprout around the middle to end of May. Below is the photo of my bushes now. These blackberries were picked between May 28th and 30th of this year. Only pick the purple ones!!
