Healthy Spinach Strawberry Salad Jar Recipe
In the summer months, I like to keep things simple in the kitchen. It gets scorching hot here in Texas, and I certainly don’t want to make it worse by turning on the oven every single night. So keeping with our healthy lifestyle, my husband and I prepare lots of simple salads with fresh vegetables and fruits. He will also grill outdoors as much as possible.
My motto is healthy living & healthy eating and making it simple is a bonus!
Last night for dinner I made this yummy nutritious spinach and strawberry salad to go along with freshly grilled meat my husband made. It’s such a simple way to make sure my family gets the healthy nutrition that we strive for, plus it’s one of two leafy greens my 6-year-old will eat. Getting my child to eat healthily is such a significant thing, so I prefer to fix foods I know he will eat. So we have fresh spinach a lot!!
Spinach Strawberry Salad Jar Recipe
- a big bowl of spinach
- Ten strawberries (sliced)
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup feta cheese
- handful walnuts
- glass jar with lid
Simple instructions: Add spinach to a large bowl, add sliced strawberries, sprinkle feta cheese, and top with walnuts! Simple, uh?
If you’re a parent or caregiver that’s always on the go, I can assure you that there’s still a way to eat healthily. A straightforward way is to get a plastic or glass container like the one I have below and layer a salad in it.
I like to put my leafy greens towards the top so as not to squash them too much. Put your dressing in a separate container, then pour it on top when you’re ready to eat. Don’t forget a fork!
This Spinach Strawberry Salad Jar Recipe is all you need. Change things up and add different veggies and fruits each time. Great to take to work too.
