DIY Spice Jar Father’s Day Gift
Pressed for time? This spice jar craft is so simple. I was able to finish it in 20 mins. It took me longer to get the photo right than to make it. And oh, decorate the jar with what you have on hand. I love stamps and scrapbooking, so I have a lot of great paper crafts and ideas at home. A simple string tied around the jar is perfect!
This spice jar idea is perfect for the Father who has everything and loves to cook. If he’s at all like my husband, he will appreciate you going the extra mile to make him something from scratch.

DIY Spice Jar Instructions
I got this idea from Sprouts. I’ll give the ingredients they listed, but by all means, use what you have on hand. I did and mine turned out great.
Ingredients for Spice Jar
- 1-1/2 TBS chili powder
- 1 TSP black pepper
- 1-1/2 TSP onion powder
- 1 TBL thyme
- 2 TBL sea salt
- 1 TSP garlic salt
Layer all the above multiple times in a small mason jar. Close tight with a lid and decorate with scrap paper, string, embellishments, or whatever you have on hand.
Don’t have ingredients listed here? Not to worry, use what you have on hand. He’ll love it!
It can’t get any easier than this. I’m giving this to my dad this weekend. He and [my mom] will love it! Then, I’m making one for my husband.
Decorate Mason Jar
After you have finished filling up the mason jar, it’s time to decorate it.
- Cut out a round circle from cardstock to glue on top of the mason jar.
- Make a gift tag.
- Tie gift tag around the jar with twine or whatever you have on hand.
SPICE IT UP for dad this year!
