1. Habits Women Do Include Taking Vitamins Every Day
It’s hard to eat healthy every day. I know, I’m there. But if you can’t or don’t eat healthy regularly, consider adding a multivitamin to your daily regimen. And, certainly, with all these fad diets around, it’s easy not to get the nutrition you need. Also, consider taking Vitamin D3 if you aren’t getting much sunlight. It’s worth the extra cost.

2. Floss Daily And Do it Well
Hasn’t your dentist told you to floss daily? Mine has – every time I see him! No matter how well we love our toothpaste and we use the best toothbrush out on the market, there’s still food that gets stuck in between the teeth. No one wants gingivitis, and flossing is an excellent way to prevent getting gum disease. One more step to flossing is using mouthwash. Mouthwash can help leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean. doTerra makes a wonderful (my affiliate link) Mouthwash made from their signature essential oil, On Guard.
3. Hug Often
I’m a hugger. I hug my friends I haven’t seen in a while. I’ll even hug you if I saw you yesterday. It’s known that by hugging, you release oxytocin which is responsible for that warm and fuzzy feeling. It also helps with the trust issue some of us feel.
4. Put Down The Phone
At bedtime, try to put down the phone and turn off the TV. Playing those silly games on my phone, like the game of Solitaire, puts me to sleep. But my husband would prefer I talk to him. However, if you’re always checking FB or IG, you might be stimulating your mind too much to fall asleep. AND, we need our sleep!
5. Drink More Water
Well, we’ve heard this a time or two. Okay, now I’m preaching. If you’re still drinking sodas, then you’re putting your health at risk. I can honestly tell you I do not drink sodas. I’ve never been big on drinking any, so it’s easy for me to stop for good.
6. Take Time Out For YOU
Do one thing every day that makes you happy. I’m not giving examples here because we are all different. Whatever it is that makes you happy, do it every day. It might be two or three things. Do one every day! AND don’t feel bad about it.
And, if I could pop in a seventh habit – travel often!!
Now these are some habits that I can definitely see myself sticking to. Thank you for the reccos! Going to bookmark this.
Such great tips and simple ways that women can be proactive about taking care of themselves. My son is a teen and I’ve said to him for years that hugs are healing. Doesn’t mean that he obliges any more often. Ha! I love this!
I drink a lot of water throughout the day. I’m a hugger as well.
YES to all of these!! Especially the flossing and taking vitamins! I have also been trying to wear lotion every day, I used to forget and my skin was so super dry!
I love the hugging one! There used to be a kids song called “Four Hugs a Day” that I used to sing with my kindergarteners! I need to start singing it again!
I’m definitely forgetting to do some of these things. I need to work on it!
I really need to get better about drinking water. I just don’t like the taste of it so I forget to reach for it.
I really enjoyed reading this post. Your tips is really helpful. Currently working on including more water into my daily routine.
These are all excellent self care suggestions. I need to up my water intake and remember to floss more. I appreciate the helpful reminder.
Drinking more water is important for everyone really isn’t it? Flossing is a good tip too. This should be in everyone’s daily self care toolkit.
Absolutely
I couldn’t agree more with EVERYTHING you said my friend- esp because they don’t take THAT much time to do!
I love all of these so much! It’s not just about a good book (but that helps). Healthy habits also include getting in that water, good food, and physical activity.
I totally agree with this. I think that we do need to drink more water and take care of ourselves better. Women tend to put themselves last and I think sometimes we do need to put ourselves first so that we can help others once we help ourselves.
I am working on these! I do try to drink more water and I’ll put down my phone so I can get stuff done. I also like going on walks.
Yay – I already do most of these things and I’ve started putting my phone down more and being present instead of checking my social media. I also work out every morning and it really helps start my day off right.
The timing of this is perfect for me as I continue to seek balance in 2019. Taking time for oneself is key!
I totally need to start drinking more water! I stink at it! I am going to make it a point to do it starting today.
Couldn’t agree with you more about all of these things. They honestly don’t take up that much time to accomplish daily.
