April 8, 2019 Kim Leave a Comment

Spring allergies are the worst. While I’m the queen of spring allergies, my main concern is keeping my son free of it! Here are 5 Ways to Keep Children’s Spring Allergies at Bay. I am participating in an influencer program on behalf of Claritin®. This program is paid for by the makers of Claritin®, and I have received compensation for my participation. All opinions expressed are my own.

When it’s school picture day, you make sure your child’s prepared with no runny nose or itchy, watery eyes – just their perfect smile.

Springtime is my family’s favorite time of year. It’s the time when we get to hang outdoors doing the things we love, like gardening, hiking, backyard fun, and playing basketball in the driveway. But, of course, those spring allergies that come along with it are no fun and something we dread. Whether it’s indoor or outdoor allergies, my 8-year-old son will inevitably go through the season sneezing and getting a runny nose. Take it from a mom who knows how it feels when her child suffers from spring allergies.

The weather in our state is so unpredictable. One day is freezing, and the next day it’s 80 degrees. Seriously, yesterday in Texas, it got up to 83 degrees and was very muggy. There’s no doubt my child will get spring allergies, whether indoors playing on his iPad or enjoying the outdoors with his daddy. As parents, below are five essential things we do to keep our child’s allergies at bay, no matter the cost.

  1. Shut your home windows and keep the A/C running while your child is in the home.
  2. Buy a good air filter and check it monthly. You may need to change it out regularly even if it says it’s suitable for three months, especially if pollen counts are high.
  3. Rely on Children’s Claritin®; the #1 Pediatrician Recommended Non-Drowsy Oral Allergy Brand
  4. Keep a cold rag handy to lay across your little one’s face.
  5. My husband insists that having our son take a shower every evening helps with his allergies. I agree, as it keeps the allergens and irritants from clinging to his clothes and living space.

If you’re a first-time mom, you’re probably not aware of how lousy spring allergies can be for your child. It isn’t perfect for them (as well as for you, too). It’s tough seeing our children not feeling well and not knowing the best treatment to give them. Consider using the Smart Allergy Mom Toolkit® by the makers of Children’s Claritin®, an online resource to help moms understand and manage their kids’ allergies.

Mr. Jett, our Lab puppy, needs lots of training, and Brody is all set to teach him how to fetch and sit.

I’m here to tell you to take precautions and stock up on a few boxes of soft tissues and consider Children’s Claritin® as an allergy treatment option for your children. It’s what we give our son, and it’s also what we use ourselves. Children’s Claritin® provides 24-hour relief of runny noses, itchy, watery eyes, and itchy nose or throat, which is why it’s suitable for our family and a brand I recommend.
