We didn’t set out to adopt two puppies, but we couldn’t split these two apart. So we took them both from Tzu Zoo Rescue, Plano, TX. Today, I share my 5 top reasons to adopt a pet because they need our love and commitment.
These precious puppies are Cissy and Cody, our adopted puppies from Tzu Zoo Rescue in Plano, TX. We couldn’t be happier taking them both. Look how sweet they are. I couldn’t imagine taking only one. I’m sure the rescue group knew that too.

5 Top Reasons to Adopt a Pet
- Rescue pets need you. They need our care more than ever.
- They are starving for love and will surely give it to you.
- To do good in your society is to adopt a pet.
- You’ll save a life or two!
- Warm kisses whenever you want them, for sure.
Here’s one more reason, although it’s not as important. If you adopt a pet as a donation, it is tax-deductible.
Here’s my short story.
Our reasons for adopting a pet are simple. They need our love and care – period. We got these two from the TZU ZOO rescue group, so that means they should have had Shi Tzu in them….but….long story short, these two are Yorkie and Havanese mix. Not at all a Shi Tzu mix.
AND we are so glad we didn’t split them up. We were told Cissy and Cody were only three months old, which at that age, it’s okay to split up sibling pets. But when I took them to our Vet, he told us that they were at least six months old because their canine teeth were already in place. Six months is too late to split sibling pets up because they are used to one another. Did I mention, these two are inseparable?
Couldn't agree more! Love my adoptees!
Good message. Great looking blog and photo! I just adopted my Mittens a month ago. I wish I had the financial resources to adopt about 10 dogs and cats. But I don't so I won't.
Aw those are such great reasons for adopting. I couldn't be happier with my rescue dog Laika – she's my best friend. My previous dogs were from shelters as well and they've all been amazing.
Cookie concurs. She's very happy with her new home.
All great reasons to adopt a pet! Thanks for sharing!
All great reasons! 🙂
Great reasons. We adopted kelly and Ike, and although they're both seniors, we're grateful for every moment together!
And to do good to yourself ! We totally agree ! Purrs
Couldn't agree more! Opt to Adopt! Being a rescue dog myself, I can't stress the importance to adopting! Thank you for sharing! 🙂
